The problem we are solving
Deforestation in the lower region of the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta threatens its unique ecosystem and the diversity of flora, fauna and indigenous communities. With an estimated 70-80% of the land cleared for agriculture, mainly coffee and cattle pasture, the WWF considers it "vulnerable". This causes erosion, landslides and the destruction of natural habitats, endangering the survival of species and local communities.
The solution proposed
Anukwe proposes an innovative solution focused on conservation and connection with nature. Designed to integrate harmoniously with the landscape, minimizing its impact on the land and aquatic environment, it will offer an immersive experience that will allow visitors to connect with the biodiversity of the region. It will function as a hub for the community and global leaders, facilitating understanding of environmental challenges. A percentage of the proceeds will be reinvested in the operation and maintenance of the eco-hotel, in addition to ongoing conservation efforts.

In addition, it is intended to involve world leaders to connect with nature, learn and promote greater awareness about the importance of protecting biodiversity and mitigating climate change.

Progress and impact tracking
Anukwe plans to measure the progress and impact of his project using a variety of indicators. These include the number of native species planted and the success of their establishment, the increase in conscious tourism and the involvement of local communities in conservation activities. Additionally, the economic impact on communities will be evaluated through job creation and improved local income. Regular monitoring will be carried out to evaluate the health of the ecosystem and compliance with conservation objectives.
